Throughout the seasons art has always filled her life and she has always enjoyed sharing and teaching others who also have a keen interest of the arts and creative crafts.

Her diverse interest in tactile and visual art ranges from fabric weaving and silk painting to print making, folk art, decoupage, stained glass, jewellery, beading, glass mosaics and fused warm glass.

Currently she is drawing down from earlier lessons learnt; combining many skills to focus on fused glass and mosaics to create unique art.

Fully fused glass works involving a number of firings of various techniques always include a final annealing process to relax and strengthen the glass.

The inspiration for this work comes from within the strength and mystique of nature and the strong inner connection with her ancestral past.

Sometimes one of her poems will lead into a new piece of art and the feelings from the poem will lay deep within her work.Using the sense of the tactile softness of fully fused warm glass along with a variety of materials that complement each other such as shells, gem stones, beads, metal and whatever catches her eye Di will add a unique interest and texture the dimensions of her work.

Di’s works are more of a story of depictional poetic fantasies; some pieces speak from the heart while others are inspired from nature. Her inspiration can come to her from a walk in the bush or along a beach; they can be from under the sea or from flying over the salt pans of the outback.

Sometimes as she is working with a fresh design she feels inspired to write a poem which compliments the soul of the image. Sometimes she finds it is the other way around and one of her poems will create a new image for her to develop.
